The name says it all...
The name really does say it all, if you're up for complete relaxation and perfect peace, then I recommend this hotel. We stayed in a 2 bedroom pavilion with a garden and a plunge pool, the sea was 1 minute walk away, as was the restaurant and main pool. Our butler, Chaminda, had an uncanny sixth sense for anticipating our every need and catered to it with gusto; we were very well looked after. There is no particular routine and you can order your breakfast/lunch/dinner etc whenever you please and wherever you please with full on service each time, in your suite, restaurant, garden or even beach!
The hotel is fairly new so all the facilities are in good order. The food is good and plentiful, ( recommend the lobster), you can even buy fish directly from the small fishing boats that operate from nearby and have the chef prepare it as you please. The locals are friendly and we felt safe even on the beach at night.
Thanks guys for a great holiday!!!

Paradise... you have to experience it!!
We spent 6 wonderful days with my wife at Serene Pavilions. It is a unique boutique hotel with great facilities and great staff.
They have 12 villas only and even it was fully booked but we didn't met anybody in the garden or by the pool. Actually, you have your own villa with 5 star + quality, your own pool, so you don't have to exit your "second home". If you wish, they are serving the meals in the villa... or in the garden... or at the beach...
We were served by our butler Tyronne, he was great, actually the best! He was very nice and never disturbing!
The prices are quite high, but for these services it was acceptable.
I recommend it for everybody, you have to experience it!!!
We visited more than 90 countries and many hundreds of hotels but this was the best...!

A serene experience
We have just returned from an 8 day holiday at Serene Pavilions. From beginning to end, we received impeccable service from everyone including Subhash who picked us up from the airport and who subsequently drove us to Kandy, from our butler, Asaleh, from Pradeep who drove us to Galle and from the pool boys who taught my partner to swim with great humor and charm.
We had freshly prepared meals each breakfast and the fish that we ate each day for dinner was stunning.
We loved this hotel!

Pure Bliss
If you're after a sublime relaxing holiday, where you're treated like royalty, then you'll love Serene Pavilions. We spent our honeymoon here and had an unforgettable experience. You get your own dedicated butler, who in our case was a wonderful chap called Asela. We were so well looked after, ate incredibly well at a reasonable price and felt completely at home in our beautiful and tasteful villa. The TV/stereo/broadband in our villa was fantastic and having your own pool was just brilliant.

Amazing escape
If you are looking for an escape from city busy life, the place is for you. It is indeed an escape from all the hush where you get all you want with having yet inquired. Relaxing atmosphere, perfect service (indeed, the best I've ever experienced), absolute comfort and joy. 100% recommended for couples and those who love calm leisure.
Besides impeccable service, the place boasts delicious cuisine and amazing beach.

Beautiful hotel and experience
From the moment we were met by Subash at Colombo airport to when he dropped us off at our next destination four days later we were able to relax and enjoy first class facilities and service. There was only one other Pavilion occupied when we were there so the whole seven acre site was just for four people - so privacy and exclusivity was assured to say the least. Asela, our butler, was always providing good advice and effectively managed all our time for us - which was great for someone like me who has to take decisions a hundred times a day - and he ensured we had great food, chose the correct time to go places etc etc. The food was very good overall, particularly the fresh fish caught daily such as mullet and grouper. Another highlight was being there for the hotel's first anniversary when 12 monks arrived early in the morning for breakfast, alms giving and a blessing. We were asked to be part of the ceremony, presenting gifts and receiving blessings ourselves, which was really lovely. Had a couple of first rate massages in the Spa with the male masseur who was exceptionally good. The waves were too strong for swimming at this time of the year, but they kept on telling us it would be like a mill pond soon. The only criticisms of the Ocean Pavilion was the lack of reading light and truly comfortable furniture to relax in downstairs. Overall a great way to start a vacation in Sri Lanka at a place that set an extremely high standard.

Great Hotel
Stayed for a week in October 2010. Had a very relaxing time; great staff; great food and service. The Executive Chef (Hasantha), personally visited our table to check on our food and was open to menu suggestions. We even had a tour of the kitchen! Only comment on the meals is that the service was too fast with only a few minutes between courses.
Our Butler (Amal) was fantastic. Understated attentiveness.
Beach is ok. Surf conditions make it too dangerous to swim in the ocean. Overall, a fantastic stay.

Superb r&r
From the moment i arrived at serene pavilions, i felt i was being treated like a part of a very special family. Nothing was too much trouble I realized, when on the first evening i happened to mention i like to do some yoga - and so a yoga mat was brought to the room for me. Amal, my butler was discrete, professional and anticipated pretty much everything i needed. The villas are gorgeous and the private pool such a luxury! I can't say enough about the food...head chef took the time to find out my favorites and then every night presented me with something amazing. A few sessions in the ayurvedic spa really worked out the stress and tired muscles i'd arrived with. If you're looking for something special in sri lanka believe the excellent reviews of this place - it is a gem!

One of our best ever hotel experiences
What a gem. We were lucky enough to stay in some fantastic hotels in Sri Lanka. We thought Tea Trails was fabulous but Serene Pavilions even surpassed that. Just twelve pavilions on the complex retains a quiet, relaxed feel. The ocean pavilions are huge, with fantastic views to the beach. The service is impeccable, with the 24 hour butler managing to organize every detail of your stay, but remain unobtrusive. The chef was happy to tailor the menu to personal tastes, and the pool attendants were eager to ensure that you had everything you needed. The only complaint we had was that we were only staying for two nights. Can't wait to return.

We had our wedding on this 23rd Dec 2009 at this gorgeous hotel
We had our wedding on this 23rd Dec 2009 at this gorgeous hotel. The service and collaboration received from the management and staff was simply superb. According to them this was the very first wedding held at this stunning property and we were privileged to be the 1st couple to get married there. We had spent our first night in one of the Garden Pavilions named "Nanda" which means the serene happiness in Sanskrit.

Pure Luxury
We just finished a 4 night/5 day stay in this wonderful property. Brand new (opened Oct 09) and right on the beach, this will be a hard hotel to get into in a few years when word gets out. Highlights include: (A) the location (right on the beach - all the oceanfront villas look straight on to the beach (10 metre lawn and then 10 metre beach before the water) and have uninterrupted and private views); (B) the food, which is excellent and served either in your villa or in the restaurant which has perfect views of the ocean; (C) the service, which is professional and unobtrusive - each villa has its own butler and nothing is too much for him - they really strive for perfection here; (D) the spa, which was good (staff from Bali).
Although expensive, I thought that the villas represented excellent value. Private pool, big jacuzzi and plenty of space is not something that you will get in any five star hotel unless you go for the presidential suite. Also had a look at the garden pavilions - very private but no ocean view. Otherwise, similar excellent facilities.
As a new hotel in Sri Lanka, we expected some teething problems. Other than a blocked toilet and a problem with the water heater (both of which were promptly fixed - and we were given a free dinner and bottle of wine for the inconvenience) there was very little that was not perfect. The entire staff, from the manager Diedre to our butler Amal were all trying very hard to make this a perfect stay for us and it showed.
Under 15s are not permitted at the hotel - perfect romantic hideaway/honeymoon spot. Wifi is good and I had good cellphone and blackberry service. Gym was ok - needs a yoga mat and a mirror - minor niggles.
If you are still debating whether to stay here or somewhere else, don't waste your time trying to find something better in Sri Lanka. At least for now, this is the best. Worth a special trip to Sri Lanka just to visit.

A total WOW
We were lucky enough to visit the day after the opening so, apart from 2 other guests, the hotel was still empty. To start with the entrance is pretty spectacular, if a trifle forbidding with large wooden gates that look a little prison like. But beyond those gates.....well! It's almost like stepping into a Georgian garden with pathways weaving through trellis work to a huge open reception that has the absolute minimum of fuss for a check in. In fact it looks nothing like a check in!
There are only 12 rooms or pavilions to choose from and each of them is superb. I've stayed in some spectacular hotels in my life, but nothing like this comes even close. We had a pavilion with a single bedroom all on one floor, but here are others that are more like complete houses. There's everything you could think of from LCD TV to a private butler. The best part was stepping straight out of the bedroom into the very private and personal swimming pool that cannot be overlooked. The beds are wonderful and we couldn't fault the room in any way.
I would have liked a little more to do such as a putting green or something a bit more physical instead of just reading and sleeping. There is a Spa but we didn't take advantage.
I have to day that the peace and quiet was wonderful as no children are allowed (welcome relief).
Would I go back?
Absolutely! Although a bot of saving up may be necessary. A definite anniversary treat though.
